The book “The Mustard Tree, The history of Microfinance in Peru” wrote by Richard Webb, Lucy Conger and Patricia Inga and published by the Instituto del Perú of USMP, won the contest “LASA Peru Flora Tristan book prize” organized by Latin American Studies Association (LASA), which is an association that gathers together more than 6 000 institutions dedicated to the study in Latin America.
The prize was granted to the book for the advance of the knowledge it represents in Peru, besides the fact that it opens new roads for research in an issue that is important but relatively little studied. The awarding ceremony will take place next October 8th in the city of Toronto, Canada, as part of the International LASA 2010 Congress that will gather together hundreds of experts from all around the world.
In this way, San Martin de Porres University again highlights its work as generator and promoter of knowledge, and reaffirms its commitment with research, looking for the development of Peru
